Challenge -- for their custom-built lakeside home, the clients requested a design plan that reflected their change to a more casual lifestyle, with a relaxed atmosphere for visiting grandchildren.

Solution -- Many formal architectural elements, such as columns and heavy molding, were removed from the original plan.  The emphasis was put on a spacious kitchen, breakfast room, and family room as a second living area.
